It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Dr Wayne Tinsey as Executive Director of Edmund Rice Education Australia.
Edmund Rice Education Australia Edmund Rice Education Australia exists to ensure the continuation of the Charism of Blessed Edmund Rice in school ministry as Church Mission.

Appointment of Executive Director of Edmund Rice Education Australia
Edmund Rice Education Australia, on behalf of the Catholic community, continues the mission of Jesus Christ, helping people to arrive at the fullness of Christian life through the provision of Catholic education. As part of the establishment of the new governance and management arrangements to enable Edmund Rice Education Australia to commence formal operations on 1st October 2007, the Council and Board have commenced to make senior appointments. It is with great pleasure that we announce that Dr Wayne Tinsey has been appointed as Executive Director. Wayne is an experienced educator having worked in Catholic education in New South Wales, Queensland, and Western Australia for more than 25 years. He has worked with the Christian Brothers in Australia, South America and India and has broad experience of the Edmund Rice charism in education. Wayne is currently the Director of Schools for the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, having undertaken that role since the beginning of 2004. Immediately before the move to Newcastle, Wayne simultaneously held the positions of Director of the Catholic Institute of Western Australia, Director of the Edmund Rice Centre for Social Justice, Head of the School of Religious Education, as well as Professor and Assistant Dean of Education at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle. He remains an Adjunct Professor of Education at Notre Dame. Wayne holds the qualifications of a Doctor of Education, Master of Education, Master of Arts (Theology), Graduate Diploma in Religious Education, Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Teaching. He will take up his new appointment full time in October 2007 however, in the intervening period, Wayne will be actively involved in the key planning elements for the establishment of Edmund Rice Education Australia. These include the making of the next senior appointments which will be the Directors of Identity, Educational Services and Corporate Services. We know that Wayne will make a significant contribution to our school communities. He will assist them enhance the way in which they live, faithful to the Gospel of Jesus, in the spirit of Edmund Rice as Catholic Schools.
