Greetings to you all, campers, Brothers, friends and families of the above; it has been a little while since "Eddy Would Go" has reached your letter box, and much has happened in the meantime. You will see from Sam's report just how much has been happening, along with other accounts from volunteers and heaps of photos (or maybe you've already seen the photos and are reading this a week later). Over the past few months I have had the opportunity to take part in some amazing experiences, both in travelling overseas and in the simple conversations with friends and strangers. I recently gave a presentation to a group of adults who were involved in some fundraising for Eddy Rice Camps.

 During the first week of November this year about forty Senior Brothers gathered at Yamba for the last Yamberee. Brothers arrived by bus, train and car from Queensland, Western Australia and New Zealand. Since it is at least a seven hour trip from Sydney, most were tired on the Sunday we all arrived.

140th Anniversary of Arrival |
On 17 November, 1868, at 8 pm, the ‘Donald McKay’ anchored a quarter of a mile from the wharf in Melbourne, having been at sea continuously from 23 August, when it sailed from Liverpool, a voyage of 95 days. The next morning, 18 November, Brs Treacy, Bodkin, Lynch and Nolan recited the ‘Te Deum’ and at 10 am went ashore to begin their Australasian mission.
