A New Beginnings For Pacific Calling Partnership
Since it began in 2006, Pacific Calling Partnership’s work such as delegations and immersions to Kiribati and Tuvalu, delegations to United Nations Climate Change Conferences and the Kiribati Australia Tuvalu Exchange Program (KATEP) has been made possible by generous contributions from supporters such as you.
We would like to ensure that the Pacific Calling Partnership is viable into the future. Hence we are planning to employ a program Co-ordinator who will work with the team of volunteers and interns for 3 days a week. The skilled volunteers that make up the PCP team will provide ongoing support to the new Coordinator to ensure a smooth transition.
To fund this position we are seeking your financial support. Making a regular monthly donation is a cost-effective way of supporting our work.
We have been most encouraged to see that Pacific Island voices are increasingly being heard in Australia and globally. The recent speaking tour Mr Anote Tong that PCP organised was a resounding success with Tong’s message sounding loud far beyond Australia. PCP has just completed a training in advocacy program for emerging leaders in Tuvalu in conjunction with Tuvalu Climate Action Network. Earlier this year the Australian Awards Fellowship program PCP conducted here in Australia for mid-level leaders from Kiribati also showed that PCP’s unique and crucial role in Australia needs to continue.
